944's Choice: A Feast Fit for the Chic

Geri Hirsch Shares Her Savory Skills

Written by: Liza Kaplan
Fashion blogger Geri Hirsch first started aggregating her sweet sartorial finds that make up Because I’m Addicted out of boredom. Little did she know, her musings would make up the must-read content of a destination site for the fashion-curious twenty-something.

“I started freelancing at Racked, covering fashion and events and I just began commenting on what I was seeing.”

Her comments, edgy, witty and refreshingly relatable are now being heard by a bevy of avid readers on a daily basis. And for those who have yet to visit the lauded blog, these wonderful entries are a careful curation of European editorial spreads, outfit photos (both of herself and beloved stylesetters like Dree Hemingway and Abby Lee), runway looks and lust-worthy wish-list items.

Now, the Angeleno is slowly branching out into the tasty subject of food. “It felt like a natural extension for girls our age who want to be able to look good and cook a great meal … and I’ve always enjoyed whipping something up in the kitchen.” Thus, to hone her Top Chef skills, she enrolled herself in the Epicurean Culinary School and kept her Because I’m Addicted followers up to speed. “I was nervous about doing food, but it was really well received. I think girls found it refreshing and felt inspired.”

Indeed, they did. Now, her site rotates in recipes between photos of Rachel Bilson and backstage happenings from top collection reviews on a regular basis, making it an even more enticing destination for the evolved “Every Girl.”
