Green With Envy Organic Hair Studio Knows What's Best (and Worst) For Clients

In Good Company

Nestled in the Optima Camel View Village, surrounded by plenty of foliage and some of the most striking urban condominiums, is the Green With Envy Organic Hair Studio. Designed and developed by a LEED architect, this 1,600-square-foot salon is eco-friendly inside and out.

With denim insulation, dual flush toilets (yes, for No. 1 and 2, folks), bamboo walls and VOC-free paint, what more could a person want or ask for in a salon. Sure, most people probably don't even think twice about such little things as the paint on a salon's walls or the toilets in the bathrooms, but thanks to 944's research, no one has to.

Green With Envy is undoubtedly the most eco-friendly salon in the Valley. Radically different from a typical salon, this one places more emphasis on using organic and completely non-toxic products. The company's mission is to provide healthier hair options and promote the benefits of living green within a down-to-earth and refreshing atmosphere. Its hair products, which range in price, are made with natural ingredients that enhance, treat and maintain healthy hair.

Green With Envy even donates all its hair clippings to an organization in San Francisco that uses them to make mats that soak up oil spills. If that's not being a “green” samaritan, we don't know what is.

The salon's owner, 27-year-old Maggie Fink, has not only excelled at running a successful green business, but she also plays an active role in the Green Chamber of Commerce. She shares with 944 a list of ingredients that she advises persons to avoid, due to the damage they can inflict upon the environment and also, our bodies.

Everyone in there is super friendly and you can tell right when you walk in that they are passionate about the idea. Going Green. Everything in there is environmentally friendly from the jeans used to insulate the walls to the soy sealer on the floors!

Hands down this is the truest organic hair studio in town. There are a lot of folks trying to be "green" but fail miserably. GWE has been able to provide a healthy environment from floor to ceiling, shampoo to recycling hair clippings. And the staff is FABULOUS! You can't go wrong.
And 944 what's up with your "green" issue?? You list Mood Swings salon as an eco friendly salon??? NO WAY!! That is so misleading! Do your homework 944 before publishing false information to consumers.

Great article Star! I love all the fun elements you listed which make green w| envy a truly unique salon & even more importantly an "essential" place for health conscious peps to get their hair done! This is not just a fad or trend...organic & green living is here, we just need to educate ourselves on the importance of it!!
And oh yea, your hair looks great!...(I told you it would!) :)
