Raspberry Crush at Daydream

The newest pool scene to hit Las Vegas, Daydream at M Resort is quickly becoming one of the best places for locals to get a great tan and a fantastic cocktail. Along with the 14 signature drinks already available, the adult V.I.P. pool added a special cocktail just for the summer season, the Raspberry Crush.

Even with a menu consisting of drinks muddled with all fresh ingredients, the Belvedere Black Raspberry is what really makes this cocktail unique and on the forefront of recent trends in the spirit marketplace. Just released a few months ago, this is the very first black raspberry vodka ever.

“You’ve seen raspberry vodkas on the market, but you haven’t seen black raspberry vodkas on the market,” says Jeffrey Blake, a sales consultant for Southern Wine & Spirits. “It’s something unique and it’s something new that they’re using. They’re really the first to be doing a drink like this at the pool.”

Combining the spirit with one of the highest-rated liqueurs, St-Germain Elderflower, the muddled fresh raspberries give the drink a sweet and refreshing taste ideal for a day in the desert sun. It also really complements the free fresh fruit skewers containing watermelon, cantaloupe and honey dew melon that are handed out by the pool daily.

“The flavor profiles of both spirits in the drink just really work well together with the fresh muddled raspberries,” Blake says. “There’s the uniqueness of it and then there’s just the fresh flavors that are actually in season right now. You’re getting really rich, ripe summer fruits that make for a beautiful poolside summer cocktail.”

2 oz. Belvedere Black Raspberry vodka
1/2 oz. St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
6 raspberries or blackberries
1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
1 oz. rock candy syrup
2 oz. Welch’s white grape juice

In a mixing glass, muddle the berries with rock candy syrup and lime juice. Add the remaining ingredients and shake well with ice. Strain over fresh ice into a highball glass. Garnish with fresh raspberries.
