Buy a Bracelet

In 2003, three young men from San Diego took their camera and went to Uganda to document the victims of the 23 year war that continues to this day. What they returned with was one of the most compelling and moving films ever made, Invisible Children. After the film became a hit, the three filmmakers, Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey, and Laren Poole, founded a non-profit organization by the same name. The organization is aimed at aiding the refugees and war victims in Northern Uganda that number in the hundreds of thousands. One of the campaigns that the organization has is the Bracelet Campaign. The organization makes five different bracelets, and each represents a story of an invisible child. The bracelets are made in Uganda, giving jobs to war victims and stimulating their economy. They are sold in the United States, and all the money goes back to African and into Ugandan schools. When you order your bracelet, a DVD explaining the bracelet campaign and telling the story of an invisible child is included with your purchase. The campaign is an absolutely amazing one, and the bracelets make the perfect gifts for friends. I urge everyone to check out the campaign and pass the word along.
