So I am getting ready to fly out to Mississippi where I will be covering the Alabama vs Ole Miss game this weekend for another installment of ESPNU Road Trip and I thought this would be a good time to share a gameday checklist to use before you head to the stadium.

When game day is approaching, it’s so easy to get caught up in all the excitement, which can leave me to forget some key essentials.

Here’s my go-to TOP 10 checklist before the game starts:

1. Weather plays a crucial part in how gameday goes, so I have to check the forecast before heading to the field. Especially when at games in the mid-west, I always come prepared to stay warm!
I make sure to have a small bag with me… Girls, stadiums are typically pretty strict about what you can bring in with you, so make sure to leave the big hobo at home.

2. Sunscreen!!! Don't need to explain much here...if the game is outside...you are going to want some sunscreen. Unless you like the tank top/jean short farmer's tan!

3. I don’t leave the house without my FlipCamera regardless of where I’m going, but on gameday it’s essential. I love being able to capture the moments, especially the excitement of the fans and the stadium. It’s so fun to re-watch after it’s over.

4. Whether you’re still in school or not, its always good to hang on to your school ID… the discounts are so great, and you can try to sneak into the student section and re-live the good old days.

5. When I was covering the UF/Tenn game two weeks ago I saw a pretty cool item at one of the book stores...a plastic disposable flask. Yep, great for brining in your own libation and it won't set off the metal detectors like an old school flask.

6. Don't forget to bring your favorite team's gear! Hats, Jersey's, a terrible towel...whatever you use to get into the gameday spirit.

7. I am not a huge fan of concession food so I always make sure to bring a little snack in my bag incase of that much expected hunger attack during the 4th quarter.

8. Girls, you've got to remember this one...how many times have you gone to a game or concert and had to use the restroom only to find that there is no more toilet paper??? Well, be sure to pack a little packet of kleenex in your purse...you will thank me later.

9. Charge up your cell phone! For the past 3 weekends I have been covering all the college games for ESPN and the one thing that has been my biggest problem is my cell phone dies before the game is over. If your day starts out early with Tailgating and you are going to a night game, chances of the cell phone lasting are slim to none. So make sure you charge up, because the last thing you want to do is miss the best after game party because you couldn't get the text. Another option is to buy an extended battery for your phone. I just bought one and you can throw it in a bag and it will give you an additional 12 hours of talk time!

10. Last but not least…. don’t leave the house without your tickets!

Enjoy!
