HOW MANY POUNDS TO POPSTAR???
Okay…one leg in, the other in, now slowly pull up…Phew, so far so good. Take a deep breath…hold it in, come on girl, you can do it… Okay, now comes the hard part, THE ZIPPER!!! Oh dear, I can’t breathe but who the hell cares?? I care about one thing and one thing only, squeezing into these damn jeans!! One more pull and…Voila! The zipper’s up, just barely, but it’s up. Now, comes the moment of truth. Will they button??? One more big suck-in…and….they buttoned…They actually freaking buttoned! Hell yeah! Okay, now one step forward, another step and RIPPPPP!!! Wait, what the F&%*!!!! Did my Frankie B’s just betray me?? A tear right down the crack…Oh Jeez! Cue the tantrum!
INTERVENTION:
We’ve all been there at one point or another but fitting into our “skinny jeans” shouldn’t feel like entering a war zone. How do Popstars like Fergie, Madonna and the Pussycat Dolls stay in such impeccable shape? Well, let’s face it, sweating your ass off on stage night after night certainly helps the cause, but it takes more discipline than that. 1) BREAKAST IS A MUST: For all of you who think you’re ahead of the game by skipping breakfast, think again. You should typically eat a high-protein meal within a half-hour of waking up to jump-start your metabolism and keep you from getting overly hungry throughout the day. Good breakfast choices include High-Protein Shakes, six egg-white omelets with salsa and/or veggies or Oatmeal with 2 tablespoons of protein powder added in.

2) EAT A PLANT-BASED DIET: You should fill up on 7-servings of colorful fruits and vegetables daily in order to rock a six-pack like Pink’s. A cup of veggies is only 100 calories vs. the 200 calories found in a cup of carbs like pasta, potatoes or rice. Not to mention, colorful foods provide healthier looking skin and contain antioxidants to protect your organs. Get this; eating raw vegetables doesn’t offer as many health benefits as lightly cooking them. And don’t count out frozen veggies. They’re often healthier and less expensive than buying fresh produce.
3) GO NUTS: Supplementing your diet with nuts is very healthy…just don’t go overboard. It’s important to count the number you’re eating. For example, 25 pistachios contain 100 calories and less than 8 grams of fat. It’s a quick fix for singers who are constantly on the go. Tree nuts such as almonds, walnuts, and pistachios are much healthier between-meal-snacks rather than chips or pretzels because they’re rich in protein, satisfy your hunger, and can keep you from binging at your next meal.
4) IT’S A GREEN TEA THING: So, here’s a great piece of info. Drinking up to three 8-ounce glasses of green tea a day can help you burn up to 80 calories. Courtney Love is a major fan!
5) QUICK START: If you’re in panic mode to lose weight with a wedding right around the corner, a Red-Carpet Premiere, or trip to the beach, here’s a quick way to lose 2-3 pounds in a week. 1) IF YOU’RE NOT SWEATING, YOU’RE NOT WORKING OUT: People, working out is supposed to be difficult, meaning, if you’re heart rate is not up, and you’re not dripping sweat, your body’s not feeling the affects. Don’t worry about looking like a supermodel in the gym, the goal is to look like Giselle once the workout is complete.
2) TRAIN YOUR BODY, NOT YOUR EGO: Ladies and Gents…Remember, this is not the “who can lift the most-amount of weight” contest, especially, if you want that lean, waffled look like Justin Timberlake. It’s all about using lower weights with higher reps. Lifting heavy weights will build up your muscles often to the point of looking too bulky.

3) BYE BYE CRUNCHES: Great news! You no longer need to do endless hours of sit-ups. Hallelujah!!! If you’re weight-training correctly, your core will always be engaged. Try standing bicep curls. Your abs should be working just as much as your arms.
4) TRICK THE BODY: It’s a known fact that humans don’t like change, but a little change is necessary in order to land a body like Gwen Stefani’s.

You should constantly shake up your workout. Cardio can consist of a hike one day, and a jog on the treadmill the next. Weight-lifting should target different muscle groups every few days. That said, workouts should stay consistent, meaning, on a daily basis, if you want to see results.
5) INVEST IN YOUR HEALTH: If you want to appreciate all your other investments like your home, car, education etc., then be sure to take the time to invest in your physical health. Remember, it’s not always necessary to belong to the most-exclusive gym or shell out thousands on equipment; you can always use your surroundings to work out. Find a stadium where you can run up and down the bleachers. It won’t cost a thing, and you’ll see results fast.
