I’ve been feeling a little lonely lately since its summer and most of my friends are home and my boyfriend has moved an hour or so away. That’s why taking in the new film, Moon, was a kind of awakening. Sam, an astronaut in the future, has been sent to the moon to do a mission alone for three years.
If I had three years alone on the moon, I wonder how much my priorities would change…
Loneliness and being critical of the powers that be are important themes in the film. Strange, but worth the 10$ and time, this film might remind you of the triviality of life a little. Sam Rockwell carries this film, monologue (sort of) after monologue. An encounter with an earlier version of himself gets Sam to realize a lot about life.
All I can say is that I am so happy to be on earth and have someone to love who isn’t a robot with Kevin Spacey’s voice. The rest will (hopefully) fall into place.
