Kim Kardashian kisses n tells..in a glossy way to give back.
This week I sat with Kim to cover the her exciting new involvement with Fusion Beauty's new lipgloss, a line of lip plumping glosses that obviously work extremely well for the gorgeous girl. My fave part about this lineup is the "Kiss Away Poverty" Campaign, in which $1 from every sale of Infatuation and Lipfusion glosses goes towards Seven Bar Foundation to help end poverty among women!! It was awesome talking with Kim's passion over makeup with her artist Troy Jensen and sharing her fave beauty secret. So here's the scoop-- try it out! (MAC's Vanilla Pigment totally gets the job done right, too ) Do get out there to Sephora and check out the line --Sugar Rush is my personal fave! To find out what Kim's style secrets are to me peep my blog for our video at www.IHeartJeannieMai.com. Mwa!!

THE BEST FASHION FIND in LA's one and only Fashion District

THE BEST FASHION FIND in LA's one and only Fashion District
You guys know me.. I'm a frugal fashionista, a bargain beauty babe at heart. Don't get me wrong--i heart my designer 'drobes, but get me to do creative styling from a sale and I'll take you from now to WOW.

That said I just have to share this new fave find of mine in the fashion -- Beauty in the City. Located in the depths of downtown LA, this store is a freakn gem. I don't know if I love more the adorable employees and store owner, Mindi, who are so "on it' like a bonnet about fast service and diligent help, but this woman knows how to buy banging things. Sick over the knee boots, awesome use of feathers and pearls, even lace bibs for layering. Fun layering stuff that you can find even on Robertson without the ridiculous price tag. This belt here is one of my faves, under $20, and do look out for more gems on my show How Do I Look! Tell Mindi your blogging bud Jeannie sent ya, and she'll be a bud too :)

Now flats that can change as qwik as my moods :P

Now flats that can change as qwik as my moods :P
I'm kinda obsessed with Miss Lindsay Phillips and her dreamy footloose Switchflop flats that I'm wearing here. (www.Switchflops.com) No, really--these things are saving my life right now in between all these lengthy shoots I run back to back in. After standing for hours in haute heels, not only do my feet go scurrying for these comfy kicks, but only Switchflops keep me struttin in my own sassy style with their snappy styles I can switch and change. The pricepoint is bombtastic, (under $100 for 3 fab looks)! Lu-Uv! Doesn't hurt that I heart the designer, Lindsay herself who is too stinkin cute! Anyway, do tune in to me on How Do I Look on Style Network or Extra TV to see more of my fave fashions, and until then, grab yourself a sweet pair of Switchflops. MWA guys!

Obsessed with funbags, love my ladies, power to the panda eyes. I wanna brag about BOOBS.

Obsessed with funbags, love my ladies, power to the panda eyes. I wanna brag about BOOBS.
Last week was the 8th Annual Susan G. Komen Fashion for The Cure event, and I was honored to be there to celebrate life and the awareness to live it loud. (Hence my dress.) Diane von Furstenberg was the sponsoring couture for the night-- and lemme tell you it wasn't just her fabu fashions that were dazzling. I met so many passionate celebs like Denise Richards, Tia Carrera, Christian Serratos from Twilight, and the beautiful ladies pictured here Eliza Duchku (who hosted), Mya, Caroline D'amore, and Claudia Jordan. As fun as it was to strut these fashions, the real stars of the night were the beautiful survivors who walked the runway with us. I was absolutely starstruck meeting these incredible women who have been fighting the disease and have lived their life even MORE free than most know how because they recognize thier worth in this life.
Can I be honest? I never took boobs seriously”ever! I love mine and I just throw on cute tops and call it a day. Then, in the past couple of years, six of my girlfriends were diagnosed with breast cancer. They're all under 40 years old. That is devastating to me.

I have a friend who has always lived passionately with dreams and so much love for other people, Stacie. She found out this month that she got diagnosed with breast cancer. She called me and left a message: "Hey, girlfriend! I don't want you to worry. I freakin' love you. You're doing so great up there on the screen. Just want to let you know that I have breast cancer. Don't worry about it, but you're such a light to other people and I feel like I need a little bit of that right now."

I feel like I'm always "on"”"camera on," "life on." For once in my life, I didn't know what to say. I didn't call her for a couple of weeks. What do you say when you're on the other side of the grass and your grass is green and somebody else's is not? I was scared. It made me realize that life is really that short. I'm a fashion maven. I talk about looking good. I strut around like I'm all cute and everything, but I never took seriously what it is to have a wholesome, healthy body underneath all this great clothing.

I decided to step it up and promote awareness any way that I could. I send out prayer requests. I send out e-mails telling people about my friends; telling them their stories; asking them for prayers and also for them to get themselves checked. I also started scheduling little boob brocades once a year. I throw like five of them in the car because that's all my hybrid fits, go out to the clinic and go get our boobs checked. I think making serious situations fun makes it a lot easier for people to get into it.

So I didn't just walk the runway, I danced! It was awesome- and the air was filled with inspiration to fight for our females. Ladies reading this, please please do take it seriously to get yourselves checked regularly once a year, and develop a habit of checking yourself while in the shower. (I do it while I let my conditioner sit in!) They're your boobs that belong on your bombshell body--and don't you forget it :)

Extra Rockin the Emmys :)

Extra Rockin the Emmys :)

OH.
Em.
GEE.
Friends--- I had such a bombtastic time at the Emmy’s. I can’t even type because I’m still freaking floating from all the glitter and sass out there on the red rug. It was too much fun!!!

It was crazy tying in two perspectives from the entire night- one was when I was working, the other was when I was trying to work it. Here I am trying to strut and look poised and perfect, when really I’m stretching to snag the many passing celebs and pissing off fire marshals from not staying put on the lil platform where I was forced. Ahhh I love working under pressure!! Then add on the dribbles of sweat from my forehead to boobs, thighs.. you get the idea. If it weren’t for our Extra crew to dab, fan off, wrangle in stars, or feed us water and gummies, I would have fainted under the piles of chains of my J Gerard dress. I have NO IDEA how Mario does it… black TUX and jacket?? Ay dios mio.

I hafta say every star was as dreamy as they looked. Vanessa Williams couldn’t have been nicer, Kevin Bacon was a gent.. I was squealing sequins with Sigourney Weaver! Drew even complimented my dress”when I was dying over hers!! Shut UP, right??

Because of the fabulous Extra family, we managed to keep our “cool” under the heat and whip out a hot show for you to enjoy tonight. Go to http://iheartjeanniemai.com/238/ for pics of our fabulous team making it all happen for us, and a video you can click on of my dress BEFORE I sweated this whole look off an hour later. Sopping wet, TMI..i know, sorry.

Thanks for reading!! Who were YouR Faves?

Asking YOURSELF "How Do I Look?"

Asking YOURSELF "How Do I Look?"

I just had to post this lil "Do" of a doll, actress Bella Thorne, whom I recently caught sparkling by me at a recent Brent Shapiro Foundation event. "Do" start your kids off young :) Bella, you're smashing dahhling!

Anyway, with the Fall season in tow I think it's always refreshing to give yourself a mini makeover just to keep em guessing. A new haircolor, fresh mix of makeup, ....it's so interesting how I host a show that asks a question I think we should ask ourselves often, "How Do I Look?"

Giving yourself a makeover is easier than you think-- I do it all the time in my very own home. It's essential to refresh the areas you spend the most time getting ready so that each morning you hustle to get dressed out the door, you're not reaching for that same brown liner and nude gloss that's within easy reach. Here are a few easy tips on how to start!

Powder Room
- Yano that old countertop that holds all your basic beauty necessities as you do your routine every morning? Switch it up by replacing the old colors of lipstick, eyeshadows and blushes on your makeup table with new tones of colors. Either pull out other shades that you haven't worn, samples you've received from makeup counters, even place a mixing tray or flat dish to mix new colors and mineral pigments to dip from. You know you won't feel creative early that morning, so having new colors within easy reach to mix and try will have you walking out a new woman.

Closet
You don't have to buy new outfits to get a new wardrobe- just mix and match in new ways!
- Create a lookbook of magazine tear outs and pics of outfits and colors you've been wanting to try. Staple and place within easy reach in your closet to flip thru when you're stuck in a romp rut. (I even pin pics of cute clothing ideas all around the sides of my walk in just to get juiced up for new looks.)
- We generally stare right smack down the center of the closet to throw something on, so switch it up. Replace all the outer pieces with all those faves in the middle, and watch yourself try reaching for things you forgot you have.

Hair
- Creating a lookbook for hair is also essential, or at least taping pics of cute do's inside your medicine cabinet. Have dishes or small containers set along your bathroom with hair pins, colorful flowers, beads, headbands, sashes, etc to see quickly that perfect cherry on top pop before you rush out the door.

These few lil steps will have you looking revamped in seconds, and make you excited again about the way you look. Never let yourself looking the same-- and have fun!

Makeout Session with The Boyfriend Jeans

Ok, everybody's doing em. Not your BOYFRIEND, but the "boyfriend JEANS". I love em and hate em. Love em when they're done right, hate em when they're not. Right is when you look sleek, cool, casual and chillaxed. Not is when u look sloppy, frumpy, and God forbit, 10 lbs heavier.

Don't get me wrong. I bow down to Katie for having sauntered out in her slouchy denims- making a fashion statement for all to follow. However, I think this particular first sighting of this denim "do" dangered the side of a "don't" because of how much better we knew Holmes to make it, later, hot:

So ladies, here's where I'm gonna give u a few tips to tweak this studly statement into making it a sexy, casual, cool look wherever you go:

1) Just because they're called your 'Boyfriend Jeans' doesn't actually mean you wear your BF jeans. Choose a denim that's loose and lean, rather than baggy and bunchy, especially if you want to opt the denim with flats. You certainly wouldn't want to appear heavier and shorter with all the bulk around you. My FAVES are Victoria Secret's BF Jeans-- amazing for every woman I've styled whether 5'2 to 5'11. They're also straight legged, which are perfect for that lean- lax look I'm describing.

2) Pair your boyfriend denim with feminine pieces. A cute heel or flat and make sure the top is form fitting to show off your feminine features. Ladies, you work hard to earn those lovely lady lumps and I will not have you looking any less luscious as u are!

3) And of course, I want u to OWN this trend. Get creative. Try on a "boyfriend's" shirt, scarf, or even shorts! The idea is loose, casual, and distressed meets feminine, fitted, and sexy fierce. Pick one staple "boyfriend" item and pair it up with your femme pieces. Throw on some shades and saunter on. Have fun with your fabulous look!
