Pre-Turkey Spaz-Fest

Everyone has left town to visit their loved ones for the ultimate turkey and stuffing dinner for Thanksgiving. This Thursday is a holiday, so technically, tonight is equivalent to a Friday. Who wouldn’t want to go out and commit all types of sin before having to sit down at a communal table and be thankful and gracious? So if you’re looking for something fun to do tonight and live in the Valley area, you should head over to The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills where the quintessential geek-band, The Spazmatics, will be playing. They’re usual Canyon Club schedule is Thursdays, but due to the holiday they are performing a day early.
The Spazmatics have a Hollywood venue where they perform on Sundays called Dragonfly. They also perform at Sachi on Saturdays in downtown Long Beach and sometimes even Canyon Club’s Las Vegas location. They are a very busy 80’s cover band and if you go tonight you will know why. They play old hits from Journey, Madonna, The Cure, to name a few. Sometimes if it’s a really good crowd, they’ll incorporate Rage Against the Machine and Foo Fighter songs into their intros. They dress up as stereotypical nerds wearing thick glasses, helmets, neck braces, suspenders and all the like of a typical dork. The bassist is hysterical and they have hilarious dialogue in between songs. The Canyon Club may be a bit of a commute but due to its location it can afford to be roomy. You can run laps in this venue and there are so many hidden sections for you and your friends to hang out. So if you’re looking something fun to do tonight, go and check out The Spazmatics at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills.

Cons: A lot of “Bros” who may want to get in a fight with you
