Museum of California Design 2009 Award Benefit & Auction in Los Angeles

Museum of California Design 2009 Award Benefit & Auction This year they are honoring fashion designer Rudi Gernreich (1922-1985) for his remarkable contributions to American fashion, from the topless bathing suite to plastic clothing. Author Peggy Moffitt, Gernreich's principal model, and one of the first supermodels, will accept the award on his behalf. Festivities will include an award presentation and silent and live auctions featuring outstanding vintage items and contemporary works of art, design and fashion. Peter Loughrey of Los Angeles Modern Auctions will be the auctioneer.

Chuck Connelly: Rediscovery in Los Angeles

Trigg Ison Fine Art hosts the first west coast retrospective exhibition of paintings by American artist Chuck Connelly that begins with a private opening night reception. The evening will include a full color catalog of the exhibition with a forward written by fine art critic and museum curator Peter Frank, special preview of an upcoming film by director Jeff Stimmel (who received an Emmy Award for his 2008 HBO film "The Art of Failure: Chuck Connelly Not For Sale"), cocktails and hors d'oeuvres The exhibition begins on Thursday, October 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and runs through November 24. Opening night Oct. 29th is RSVP only.

SAFFORE'S LUXURY MEN'S SALON in Los Angeles

The Grand Opening on May 13 was a success! It was a great turn out and all of Tray's loyal clients and friends like Terrell Owens, Reggie Miller, Mekhi Phifer and Michael Rappaport came out to show support for the new salon. Caroline D'Amore started off the night with a one hour set and then MC Lyte took over for the rest of the night. Tequila 374 was poured and Katana provided their signature fusion cocktail. The red carpet wrapped the sidewalk on Sunset Blvd. and the guests enjoyed the night air and delicious chocolate/strawberry desert pizzas from next door at Pizza Rustica.
