Venue: Union Street (click here for venue details)
Union Street is the place to be for holiday happenings. Kick off the festivities on November 5th in beautiful, historic Cow Hollow and enjoy a plenitude of holiday-related entertainment. From November 5th – December 25th areas between Van Ness and Steiner, and Fillmore Street, from Union to Lombard, will provide free holiday amusement and events; including jugglers, face painters, art projects, a special “Snow Queen” children’s parade and carolers.
Also as of November 5th, look for the “We Can Care” program on Union Street. Merchants collect canned food to donate to food banks throughout San Fran. Retailers offer shoppers discounts and gift wrapping for bringing canned food. On December 12th Santa Clause himself will be hitting the street to collect cans for the cause.
For November and December Union St. stores add festive lights, parking meters dress up like giant candy canes, trees are sprinkled with sparkling bulbs to set the stage for a magical season. Don’t miss the “Fantasy of Lights Event” on December 5th to watch as thousands of holiday lights turn on decorating the Victorians, and a huge team of elves, live ponies dressed as reindeer, and balloon artists join the party.
