Kym Gold-Lubell and her business partner/Babakul, Inc., Vice President, Giannci Genau, hosted a private launch event for their new women’s line, Babakul (which means “hippie” in French), sponsored by Malibu Magazine. Kym Gold-Lubell, the former co-owner/co-founder of True Religion Jeans, welcomed close friends and members of the press to her luxurious Malibu estate to showcase Babakul’s best-selling trousers and vests for fall as well as key looks for spring 2009 including cotton twill, plaid and lightweight denim. Kym and Giannci entertained friends including Holly Robinson-Peete, Golden Brooks, Randolph Duke, and Kym’s fiancé Victor Newman of Win Win Global. Eric Benet and his daughter India provided a standout performance. Attendees indulged on delectable eats by Jennifer Naylor Catering, “babakul-tinis” by EFFEN Vodka and Rose’s Pear Martini Infusion, Rosenthal Estate Wine, State of Mind Water, and trousers by Babakul.
