Academy Major Donor Dinner – September 19, 2008
Just days before the reopening of the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, donors were invited to explore the institution they helped bring to life. The theme: celebrating generosity, and recognizing the philanthropic community whose support has seen the Academy through the largest cultural fundraising accomplishment in San Francisco’s history. Guests had the chance to spiral up through the four-story rainforest exhibit, visit the African penguins before their bedtime, and check out other newly-completed exhibits before sitting down to a beautiful dinner in the East Garden, prepared by McCall Associates. Reopening on September 27th in Golden Gate Park, the Academy is home to Steinhart Aquarium, Morrison Planetarium and Kimball Natural History Museum, all under one living roof.
