SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Gen Art’s Fresh Faces in Fashion San Francisco will present the work of ten local fashion and accessories designers at the Regency Center on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 8:30pm with doors opening at 8pm for the general public and 7pm for the VIP reception. The 5th annual runway show presented by Citi reflects the current state of the emerging designer world, providing cutting-edge Bay Area fashion designers the opportunity to show their looks on a 60-foot runway in the Grand Ballroom for an expected audience of over 1,000.

Gen Art, the largest non-profit for emerging visual artists, fashion designers, filmmakers and musicians, welcomes the public to what they do best― a runway fashion show and after party. Now in its 14th year nationally and 5th in San Francisco, Gen Art’s Fresh Faces in Fashion presented by Citi is recognized as the industry showcase for the most exciting talent and trends of tomorrow.

Fresh Faces in Fashion San Francisco is the program’s grand finale in a series of Gen Art national Fresh Faces in Fashion shows that take place during the official fashion weeks in New York (September 4), Chicago (October 1) and Los Angeles (October 10).

“It’s exciting to present such an accomplished group of local designers,” said Charm Bitanga, Gen Art San Francisco’s Regional Event Manager. “With icons like Zac Posen, Philip Lim, Rebecca Taylor and Chaiken all crediting Gen Art as the nurturer of their fashionable roots, we’re proud to say Gen Art is continuing that tradition with the talent in this year’s show.”

Directly following the show, an after party will take place in the Sutter Room of the Regency Center from 9:15pm until midnight, showcasing installations by four accessories designers. Guests can enjoy specialty cocktails, a Yelp.com photo booth and live entertainment by Leerone and the Rondo Brothers.
