January 15, 2009 – U.S.C’s Rose Bowl winning Head Football Coach Pete Carroll was the ‘guest of honor’ at the Grand Opening of ESPN Zone at L.A. LIVE hosted by AEG and Tim Leiweke. ESPN X Games and E! Entertainment’s Daily 10 host Sal Masekela was the emcee alongside Steve Mason and John Ireland of ESPN-710. The event attended by USC’s athlete alumni like Reggie Bush, and other special guests, was a benefit for the A Better LA foundation. Founded by Carroll, A Better LA is a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence and hopelessness in our inner-cities.
