May 6th, San Francisco: A benefit hosted by Joy Yi Boatwright, Linda Kang Chong and
Joseph Chong was held at Vessel SF to support The KYOPO Project by CYJO and to
self-publish the project into a book.
Influential guests in the San Francisco Bay Area came together to support the global,
multicultural message behind the Korean Diaspora, projected both photographically and
textually. Guests included Consul General Koo & Mrs. Koo, Yul Kwon & Sophie Tan,
Sunwoo Hwang, Joy Yi Boatwright, Teresa Lim, Claire Chang, Kyung Yoon, Kent
Radspinner, Roberta Economitis, Angela Chong Barnes and Alex Lloyd.
CBS Channel 5 News reporter, Sue Kwon, emceed the event. Yul Kwon executed a
moving and heart felt keynote speech following CYJO’s statements about the project.
Performances were given from singer, songwriter talents- Bobby Choy (Big Phony),
Maggie Kim and Susie Suh who flew in from Paris and LA.
