944 Magazine Honors the Nation's Best with First Annual 944 Picks Issue

Editors Turn the Tables Allowing 944 Readers to Vote on their Favorites in the Country's Leading Entertainment Hubs

 

(April 2009) - 944 magazine (http://www.944.com/) is giving readers the opportunity to step on the other side of the editorial roundtable to nominate their city favorites for the first annual 944 Picks issue. The long-awaited issue is slated for a May 4, 2009 street date.

Beginning on April 1, 2009, readers can visit www.944.com/picks to vote for more than 50 individual categories focused around dining, hospitality, nightlife, beauty, health, culture and people. Headlining categories include:

Specific categories range from "Eatery to Savor Breakfast" and "Nightspot to Dress to Impress" to "Shop for Accessorizing Head to Toe" and "Yoga Studio to Perfect our Downward Dog."

In addition, 944 is also giving readers the unique opportunity to submit black-and-white images of scenes and moments that depict their city. Select photos will be published in the 944 Picks' LIFE gallery, a commemorative section that gives anyone with a camera the chance to see their work in print. Photos can by uploaded at 944.com/LIFE.

The contest will take place in all of 944's markets including: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, San Diego, Orange County and Phoenix. Each regional edition will commemorate the city's Reader Picks selected through the voting process, along with the Editor Picks.

Voting will commence on April 18, 2009 at 12:00 a.m.
