944 Teams Up with Accomplished Art Director Eric Roinestad to Launch New Layout Designed to Streamline the 944 magazine and 944.com Products
LOS ANGELES - 944 magazine (http://www.944.com/) has launched a new look with the debut 2009 Vanguard Issue. Designed to create consistency and a fresh appeal, the new concept retains 944's signature style yet evolves with a more modern layout. The new direction marks 944's first artistic transformation since its inception seven years ago.
The "new" 944 was developed by the publication's internal design team, in collaboration with sought-after art director Eric Roinestad, founding art director of Flaunt magazine and the senior art director at Capitol Records. Roinestad worked hand-in-hand with Editor in Chief Martine Bury to streamline the 944 magazine and 944.com product into one seamless aesthetic.
"The digital age has arrived,and the new layout embraces that by encouraging the interactivity between print and Web, increasing utilization of user-generated content and making it an all-around experience," said 944 Editor in Chief Martine Bury. "Readers will have the opportunity to make their voices heard on suggested topics, with select content integrated into the publication. Our editors will continue to thoughtfully curate that information."
944 will also provide readers with a live experience through SMS marketing, connecting them to the hottest nightlife destinations, restaurants, boutiques, spas and products through a daily pick.
A more functional layout showcases new signature feature sections - 944 Picks, Vitals, Focus and Pulse. The signature sections are developed to allow readers to engage in an easy-to-navigate format month to month.
